Porsche Prepares Boxster Coupe! by Alex Michalas Ever since the Boxster's introduction back in 1996 there have been rumors about the introduction of a Boxster. These rumours now seem to be more true than ever as FantasyCars.com has learned
that Porsche have very seriously considered the introduction of a coupe Boxster. They have already carried out a lot of research on such a car and the impact it would have to the brand's image. In fact, according to our
sources, the decision for a Boxster coupe model has recently been taken. It is planned to be a two seater and will initially be powered by the 2.7lt. 230hp Boxster's engine. What still remains unclear
though is the time of its introduction. It currently seems most likely that it will be jointly launched when the all-new Boxster is introduced in late 2004/early
2005. The photo we are showing here is a drawing of a likely shape of this all-new Boxster. In any case, what counts is that sooner or later Porsche will have a contender in the part of the market
currently dominated by Audi's TT, BMW's M Coupe and Mercedes' CLK that will bring the number
of Porsche models up to 4 as the current 911 and Boxster will also be joined by the Cayenne SUV in 2002/3.Great news then, once again, for Porsche fans. We will of course be keeping you updated on this as we
learn more details. In the meantime, why don't you
click here and discuss the possibility of a Boxster Coupe with other FantasyCars people in the FantasyCars.com MessageBoard.
