The All-New Skyline GTR Rocks Tokyo!
by Alex Michalas

All-New Nissan Skyline? Yes! Nissan chose Tokyo to showcase the new Nissan GT-R (the Skyline name appears to have been dropped somewhere in the way!).

The car shown here (and at this year's Tokyo show) is a first concept from which the 2004 Nissan GT-R will evolve. How close this 2001 concept will be to the final 2004 production version is unclear but we think it will be quite close.

Mechanically, the rumor is that a twin-turbo 3.5 litre V6, 335 hp engine will be fitted, while the GT-R will keep the trademark computer-controlled 4wd system of the current Skyline.

The most important detail, though, is that Nissan plans to develop the GT-R as a car to be sold all around the world. Nissan GT-R - coming soon to a dealership near you - wherever you are!
