The All-New Lamborghini Murcielago is Here! by Alex Michalas Page1 Page 2 It's here! Following years of speculation, Lamborghini's Diablo successor is here! Let's welcome the Murcielago, that is named after a famous Spanish Bull, to our World of FantasyCars! The car has just been unveiled to the world's press in a dramatic ceremony in Italy and will be shown to the rest of the world in next week's Frankfurt MotorShow (from where we will be bringing you more
coverage, of course). As earlier reports have suggested, the Murcielago will be powered by a 6.0lt V12
engine (similar to the latest Diablo's), expected to produce around 580hp.But let's leave the photos speak for themselves! We think the lines of the new car are unmistakebly
Lamborghini - perhaps a little softer than the Diablo's, but the whole car definitely looks like the first Lambo of the 21st century ought to look.
A little detail we got is the (rather surprising we have to admit) wings that can be seen in this photo: We understand that they are going out only above a certain speed, in order to help the car aerodynamically (similarly to the 911 Turbo's
rear spoiler). What do you think? Is it that Lamborghini wants to show us that this car can really fly - hence the wings?
Anyway - we will surely have more time to talk about this car in the years to come - and we have a full report coming on it in the next few days. Click here to go to Page 2
