Porsche Officially Unveils the 911 GT2. by Alex Michalas Porsche has just confirmed our earlier reports
on what is the wildest production 911 ever! Seen in the Detroit Motorshow for the first time, the new 911 GT2 is based on the normal 3.6 lt. Turbo version but takes performance to a new level.
The twin-turbo engine stays the same but it has
been upgraded to produce 462 hp and 457 lb.ft of torque which are enough to propel the car to a top speed of almost 200 mph.
Explaining the reasons that led to the production of the GT2, Porsche execs said that it bridges the gap in their model lineup between the 911 Turbo and the Carrera GT supercar which has not yet been
confirmed for production. It is also seen by Porsche engineers as a car combining qualities from both the standard 911 Turbo model and the wilder 911 GT3. The Carrera GT was also present at the Porsche stand, making its American debut. Porsche officials
said that a decision on whether or not to produce this stunning concept will be taken within the next few months. Looks like we really have a lot of great cars to expect from Porsche in the short and mid-term. In the
