Jensen's New Coupe Concept. by Alex Michalas We are continuing our British Motorshow 2000 coverage with bringing you even more wild British
machines. So, it's time you got to know about Jensen!
Jensen is not another new small British sportscar manufacturer as it has actually been producing cars since the 30's! Back then, Jensen's cars were
renowned for their high-tech aluminium bodies and the powerful American V8 engines they were using and, in fact, this new Coupe Concept follows on the tradition. The Jensen C-V8 that has just been unveiled (photo 1) is actually a
coupe version of the company's S-V8 open top sportscar (photo 2). Both cars use a Ford Mustang derived 4.6 litre V8 that is good enough for 325hp at 5800 rpm.
And yes, the car's body is made up entirely of aluminium and apparently many ex-Jaguar designers have been called in to help developing it. The C-V8 coupe's price has been set at 45,000 pounds
($65,000) which is a bit more than the 40,000 pounds asking price for the open top S-V8 ($58,000).Now, we think there is something really special about the styling of these two cars. It probably is their
British-American heritage which results into something that seems like a cross between a TVR and an american hot rod. What do you think? What do you think of the new Jensen Coupe? Click here and talk about it in our Messageboard!
