Here is the Funky New Nissan Z! by Alex Michalas Nissan is a manufacturer with a long history of producing interesting FantasyCars like the original '70 Z, the 300ZX and the Skyline so
today's unveiling of the all-new Nissan Z in Detroit was highly anticipated.
The new car looks set to make a big impact in the budget-FantasyCar segment of the market. Powered by a 3.5 lt. V6 producing
260hp and 240 lb.ft of torque it will offer serious performance (Nissan claims acceleration to 60mph in less than 6 seconds) for under $30,000 USD when it hits production in late 2002!
The design of the car is definitely inspired by the 1970s classic but still looks very modern – a great combination of retro looks with contemporary design in our opinion.
Power is transferred from the front-mounted engine to the rear wheels by either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
We really can't wait to see the new Z hit the road and hope that it will look exactly like the car shown in Detroit today. What's your opinion? Click here and voice it in our Message Board! Click Here for More Exciting FantasyCars from the 2001 Detroit MotorShow! |
