Porsche chose the Paris Motorshow to unveil this stunning Supercar concept called the Carrera GT.It is powered by a 5.5 litre V10 engine that is placed right behind the seats of the car, producing
560 hp and 462 lb.ft of torque and driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed transmission.
The latest Porsche racing
technology has made it to this concept with such things as ceramic brakes in all 4 wheels, a race-bred suspension and a lightweight carbon-fibre chassis.
Top speed is expected to be 330 km/h (205mph) and acceleration to 60mph should take less than 4 seconds.
Porsche officials insisted that this is only a concept car at this point but admitted that, after exploring the market for such a supercar, and evaluating the reaction the Carerra GT gets here in Paris, it
will probably make it into production by 2003!
