New TVR Tamora Unveiled! by Alex Michalas You may be surprised but, nowadays, TVR is actually the biggest British
manufacturer! (Remember, for example, that Lotus is owned by the Malaysian Proton company). So, TVR just had to have a big presence in its home Motorshow and it certainly did by introducing an all-new model named Tamora!
The Tamora is based on the TVR Tuscan chassis, and is actually set to replace the outgoing Griffith model. It is powered by a 3.6 litre
straight six engine producing 330hp at 7,200 rpm and 220 lb.ft of torque at 5,500 rpm. TVR says that the new car
boasts quite a few innbvations such as a composite body work and other weight saving construction methods that result in the Tamora being the lightest of the current TVRs at 1000 kg.
The Tamora's price has been
set at 36,000 British pounds (around $50,000) but, as with all TVRs, there are unfortunately no plans for sales outside Britain.
We are big fans of all of TVR's creations so expect more on these unique British muscle cars to appear on FantasyCars.com soon... What do you think of the new TVR Tamora? Click here and talk about it in our Messageboard!
