Trident Unveils New Iceni. by Alex Michalas Britain is full of unique small volume sports car
manufacturers and Norfolk based Trident is one of them.
The Iceni is Trident's latest new car and has just been unveiled in the British Motorshow. The car uses a GM-derived 3.0 litre V6 engine that
produces 240hp at 7,000 rpm and 220 lb.ft of torque at 3,200 rpm. Trident claims a 0-60mph time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. A very interesting feature of the Iceni is the roof arrangement. The "Oculight" top is comprised
of 4 sections giving a variety of configurations. Another interesting thing is that there is actually no rear view mirror. In its place Trident have installed a camera at the back that restores rear visibility!
Trident is pricing the Iceni at 33,000 pounds (around $50,000) placing it in competition with most of TVR's models. The company also has exporting plans for continental Europe, Asia and USA.
