Breaking News: All-New 2003 Dodge Viper! by Alex Michalas
It was in last October's Paris Motorshow
that we thought we were surprised when we saw Porsche unveil the stunning Carrera GT supercar out of the blue. This time it's DaimlerChrysler's time to totally surprise us! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the all-new 2003 Dodge Viper has just been unveiled in the
2001 Detroit MotorShow!
We find the timing perfect as the current Viper that was introduced in 1992 has started needing an upgrade. With the new car,
Dodge certainly seems set to keep producing what is the most desirable American FantasyCar available! Dodge execs are claiming that the new Viper
is going to be the only 500/500/500 car in the world today. They are simply referring to the car's engine that is producing 500 hp and 500 lb.ft of torque from 500 cubic inches
(8.3 lt. that is). Power will be transferred to the rear wheels via a six speed gearbox.
As you can see from the photos, the overall look of the car has been changed as well. For
example the front headlights are now bigger. Inside a push-start button has been included and the tachometer has been put in a central position on the dashboard. That's all from the first glimpse of the all-new Viper. As this is probably the most important new FantasyCar of the year we are gonna be
back with more details really soon! In the meantime visit the FantasyCars.com
