After the Bavarian marquee has introduced the facelifted 3 Series, the semi-inhouse tuner Alpina has followed promptly with its own take on the executive sedan – a refreshed B3 Biturbo.

The new Alpina B3 Biturbo has made its official world debut during the 2015 IAA Frankfurt motor show, closely following the calendar of the BMW model update, with the range of specific Alpina changes in terms of design, equipment and technology. The front fascia has been adorned with a new spoiler and features a chromed BMW kidney grille in a bid to augment the dynamic stance of the updated B3. At the back we also noticed the refreshed apron with elegantly integrated double twin tailpipes. The Alpina treatment is as usual understated, which bodes well with the seriousness of the 3 Series.

Under the hood sits the straight-six 3.0 liter engine that has direct injection and twin turbochargers, delivering a promise of thrilling dynamic stance and a total of 410 hp (301 kW) with a maximum torque of 600 Nm. This enables the B3 Biturbo to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and then top out at 303 km/h. Fuel efficiency has not been forgotten, with an average fuel consumption of 7.6 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 177 g/km.
