A prototype of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta facelift has been spotted by our photographers in Turin. While Alfa Romeo awaits more product based on its new rear- and all-wheel drive platform, including its first ever SUV, the brand will soldier on with its front-wheel drive hatchbacks, albeit with some changes and upgrades to keep them competitive. Despite the presence of camouflage tape all over the prototype’s body, we don’t believe that the revised Giulietta will be receiving any sheet metal changes. Rather, the updated car will sport a revised front end that more closely aligns it with the unveiled, but not yet on sale, rear-wheel drive Giulia sedan. Both the grille and the lower air intake feature a hexagonal mesh treatment, much like the one featured on the BMW M3-rivalling Giulia QV. We expect to see some minor alterations to the rear bumper as well, but it’s hard to discern, at this stage, what the changes will encompass. While the prototype still uses the same headlights and tail-lights as the Giulietta that’s currently in showrooms, it’s likely the final facelifted model will sport revised graphics for both. Rumours indicate that the updated Giulietta will make its debut at the 2016 Geneva motor show, which takes place in March.
