Volkswagen has announced pricing for a limited-edition Beetle convertible that pays homage to the 1970s Jeans Bug. The 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Denim convertible starts at $26,815 and features unique denim accents inside the cabin.

The Denim convertible uses the Beetle’s standard 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-four engine producing 170 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It comes equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission and is the second least expensive model in the Beetle convertible lineup. The Denim slots between the base Beetle convertible and the SE model.

VW is only making 2,000 copies, half of which will come in a Pure White exterior and the other half in Stonewashed Blue. Each model has a dark blue convertible top finished in a fabric-resembling denim. Special 17-inch Heritage wheels finish off the look.

Inside the cabin, the Beetle receives denim-colored cloth seating with white piping and dark blue leatherette accents, as well as jeans-inspired seat pockets. The dashboard features a unique blue and silver color that lends it a metallic appearance.

Also look for VW’s next-generation infotainment system with a 5.0-inch touchscreen. Other standard goodies include a rearview camera, Bluetooth, SD card slots, and USB multimedia interface with iPhone and iPod device connectivity.

The Volkswagen Beetle Denim debuted at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show alongside the Volkswagen Beetle Dune, which also goes on sale this year.
