Bentley has teamed up with British pop artist Sir Peter Blake to create a unique Continental GT V8 S Convertible that will be auctioned for charity by Bonhams at the goodwood Festival of Speed on June 24. The automaker commissioned Blake to design the car’s exterior, which draws inspiration from his own work. Proceeds from the car’s sale will go to the Care2Save Charitable Trust, which provides hospice and palliative care worldwide.

“It was a fascinating project to be part of, particularly for the skilled artisans in our bespoke Mulliner division, who worked closely with Sir Peter to bring this design to life,” said Kevin Rose, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Sales, Marketing and aftersales, in a release. “We have proudly supported the Care2Save Charitable Trust and the hospice movement for more than 25 years and so take great delight from donating this inimitable car for such a worthwhile cause.”

Blake is best known for designing the sleeve for The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album and states that he is “proud to have been involved with transforming this beautiful car.” The most prominent feature of the one-off Continental GT Convertible is Blake’s trademark, a St. James Red Heart motif hand-painted onto the car’s hood, finished in yellow, which pays tribute to the work of hospices. Part of the car is painted in St. Luke’s Blue, an homage to St. Luke’s Cheshire hospice located north of Bentley’s Crewe headquarters and is supported by the automaker. The rest of the car’s exterior is then complemented with a British Racing Green lower body, and a pink radiator shell.

Inside, the car features seats with different colors, including Cumbrian Green, Imperial Blue, Newmarket Tan, and Hotspur, to replicate the vibrant and colorful exterior design. The car’s steering wheel features all four colors combined together. Like the exterior design, the cabin also features bright colors such as a pink shifter that contrasts with the piano black veneer. Blake’s signature St. James Red Heart is also embroidered into the headrests. Unique storage cases in Piano Black with Continental Yellow and St. James Red internal linings are also featured. Finally, the car has a unique treadplate that signifies the car’s exterior design is done by Sir Peter Black and comes with a “No.1 of 1” label.

The Sir Peter Blake-designed Continental GT V8 S Convertible will be the second Bentley Continental GT that the automaker is donating to the Care2Save Charitable Trust.
