We’re pretty much used to the world of aftermarket absurdities, so we’re always falling in love like suckers for the ones doing restrained work – owing it to the motto “less is more”.

One fine example comes from aftermarket specialists at Edo Competition, which are declared fans of the German automaker Porsche – the testaments are all out there in the numerous 911 upgrade range. For example, the company’s CEO Edo Karabegovic actually owns no less than three 918 Spyder hypercars – even though they’re limited to just 918 units. Now the tuner has decided a fan favorite – the 991 GT3 RS – should be treated fairly to a new carbon fiber sport package. Options include glossy or matte finish and the pack adds lots of components such as the air outlets of the front fenders and the air intake of the rear side panel. Also available are the side mirror caps, along with winglets and the rear cover air intake. Edo has also opted for carbon fiber across the rear spoiler’s wings and struts. Inside, the steering wheel and seatbelts can match the exterior styling.

The carbon fiber package is not only to enhance the visual appeal, because it also delivers a diet – the model now tips the scales at 1,420 kilograms (3,130 pounds). While the performance is unknown, in the standard apparel the Porsche was already a beast, rocketing to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds and maxing out at 193 mph (310 km/h). By the way, we heard from the rumor mill that Porsche is looking to deliver a 911 GT3 RS 4.2, with assorted upgraded engine and other component enhancements. We’re looking forward to that one also getting the Edo treatment.
