The second largest US automaker has decided to celebrate in style the Kansas City RoyalsWorld Series win that was accomplished last season – presenting the special series MVP Edition model starting life as an F-150 XLT.

The Ford F-150 MVP Edition limited series model started life as an F-150 XLT and adds as a standard the chrome pack. Other modifications include a spray-in bedliner, polished stainless rocker panels, and “MVP Edition” badging. The rest of the tweaks are pretty subtle and the special edition will also only be offered with the Blue Flame or Oxford White paints.

Oddly enough Ford decided to follow through and present this edition based on the idea of a Kansas City Royals fan named Marc Lassalle. The story goes that he remembered about Ford delivering a Ranger MVP Edition in 1985 to commemorate the Royals’ first win in the World Series. Ford took the idea home and pursued it by creating another special edition to celebrate the team’s second victory. The manufacturing run will only encompass 300 units and all the vehicles will be assembled at the automaker’s Kansas City Assembly Plant. The company did not release additional information regarding pricing or performance figures and only commented the special edition is already up for grabs at the dealerships in the Kansas City area.
