A leaked product roadmap published overnight claims that the BMW 3 Series-class Genesis G70 will be unveiled in 2016.

The page, which seems to be from a presentation booklet, was published by The Korean Car Blog, but it’s not clear how or where the website obtained the roadmap.

Genesis’ most critical near-term launch is the G70, which will be pitched against the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and Lexus IS.

If this roadmap proves to be accurate, the G70 will be introduced in 2016. Styling for the rear-wheel drive G70 was previewed earlier this year by the New York Concept.

Should the G70 make its debut later this year, it probably won’t enter production until 2017. Priority will naturally be given to larger markets, such as North America, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see in the G70 in local showrooms until late 2017 or early 2018.

All six models laid out in the leaked plan were all announced when Hyundai went public, at the end of 2015, with its plans to create a new brand to take on established luxury marques, like Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz.

The only model shown in full detail is the Genesis G90, which was unveiled in South Korea at the end of 2015. Known in its homeland as the EQ900, the G90 go on sale in overseas markets from around the middle of 2016, but it won’t be coming to Australia as it will only be built in left-hand drive.

Next up is the G80, which is a lightly updated and rebadged version of the car that was initially launched as the second-generation Hyundai Genesis.

After the G70 is launched, Genesis will follow up three more models. First up will be a mid-size SUV, likely based on the G80 sedan. This will be followed by a smaller SUV, which will probably use the G70’s underpinnings, and closer to 2020 there will be a “near luxury sports” coupe based on the G70.
