Debuting at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2017 Lincoln MKZ has taken large steps away from the outgoing model as it comes with an all new design for the front end. Many will see the new 2017 MKZ looking conspicuously similar to the latest iterations coming from Britain-based Jaguar but since everyone is entitled to its own opinion we are not going to issue any judgment for the time being. The new front fascia comes complete with a completely new radiator grille, refreshed headlights and an updated hood. The interior meanwhile has not been touched as much but does have a modified center stack with the predecessor’s touch-sensitive controls axed in favor of more traditional buttons, switches, and dials. Power is provided by an all new Lincoln-exclusive 3.0-liter GTDI V6 engine churning out 350 bhp (261 kW) and 400 lb-ft (541 Nm) of torque if the customer goes for the FWD layout or developing 400 bhp (298 kW) and 400 lb-ft (541 Nm) of torque if all-wheel drive is selected instead. The latter can also receive the Driver’s Package that comes complete with a “light magnetic” grille, black brake calipers as well as 19-inch alloys. Inside the optional pack brings aluminum pedal covers, a black interior with carbon fiber-like trim and multi-contour seats. The chassis is also modified thanks to the refreshed continuously controlled damping system and the Dynamic Torque Vectoring. Other engine choices include the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a hybrid option. Availability is expected for the summer of next year.
