With the 911 range being updated through the midlife cycle facelift, it’s safe to assume the upgrades will span the entire model roster – with the touches also reaching the focused GT3 version.

Porsche first opted to enhance the regular 911 models – the bread and butter of the series’ sales. Now it’s developing the 911 GT3 iteration and according to reports flying off the mill it could be finished in time for the official public appearance during the fall’s Paris Motor Show. Sales would then start during the first part of next year, and we’re already able to provide what seemingly appear to be leaked images of the GT3 coming from an official Porsche digital configurator on the Dutch website. The pictures were uncovered by a fan and showcase a digital reproduction in 3D of a scale model.

They could be legit since the car uses a different front fascia than of the current iteration. From what we can tell, the high performance machine will be treated to a modified front bumper with reworked LED daytime running lights and air intakes, together with new aerodynamic elements around the radiator grille. Out back, we can see the diffuser taking a different shape and the taillights also look subtly modified. According to the reports, the most important change to the GT3 for the facelift version will be the addition of a classic six-speed manual transmission, linked to the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine – the PDK automatic gearbox with two clutches is still there as the other option.
