The special model, a limited run edition of the McLaren MP4-12C, called High Sport, will be present during the auction at the Mecum AuctionsKissimmee 2016, where it has been tipped at a price of up to $1.6 million. The High Sport has been penned by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), and it was originally tipped for a five unit production run – though its success led to the creation of ten cars in reality. The one up for grabs at the upcoming event is chassis number 9 and its exclusivity is rendered by the unique Formula 1 Vodafone Racing Team livery. It’s also featured with MSO Rocket Red airbrush finishing touches and some other bespoke perks coming directly from the track-only GT3 variant. Among them we can highlight the bumpers with side air extractors, or the louvers on top of the front fenders. This is a 2012 model year that was commissioned by none other than Ron Dennis and the package is even more appealing because it has also been equipped with the Stealth Package, the carbon ceramic brakes, and a sports exhaust. Under the hood the upcoming owner will find the signatures of the McLaren team drivers and his belongings will be stylishly safe in the bundled designer travel cases. Oh, and the icing on the cake: the pristine condition is derived from the fact that is has only clocked on the odometer a total of 203 miles (327 km). The special edition High Sport featured the twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter engine with a power upgrade of 75 hp to a total of 675 hp, which are then directed towards the wheels using a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car is part of the McLaughlin Exotic Collection and will be up for grabs during the January 15-24 event.
