New Volvo V60 Polestar - Six Cylinders Out, Four Cylinders In

#hashtags: #Polestar #Audi #Avant

We currently have a Polestar on test but our one is the S60 model and it has a 3.0-litre straight six powerplant unlike the refreshed V60 and S60 Polestar. It has lost a litre of capacity and two cylinders but the engine boasts 362hp which is 17hp more than the outgoing Polestar duo. It allows the car to hit 100 km/h from standstill in just 4.8 seconds which is 0.1s quicker than the Audi S4 Avant (the competitor of the V60).The twin-turbocharged engine includes a bigger turbo, new conrods, new camshafts, a larger air intake and a higher-capacity fuel pump. Volvo has also put the car on a slight diet by dropping 20kg from the predecessor. Bigger brakes and a tweaked power steering system round off the performance upgrades. As with any Polestar model, it will be sold in limited numbers (between 1250 and 1500 units). Got to love that Rebel Blue colour on these Swedish machines!
