The high performance division of the German automaker has introduced during the New York Auto Show for the first time in front of the worldwide audience the new E 43 and GLC 43 models.

First off we have the first hot version of the all new E Class, with the E43 set to stir up the frying pan before the arrival of the hardcore E63. The Mercedes-AMG E43 is treated to a new front end with a single-bar diamond grille and larger intakes for the front bumper. There’s also a trunk-mounted spoiler, a rear diffuser, and a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system and the changes are completed by the addition of the bespoke 19-inch alloy wheels with a high-gloss black finish. Inside the owners will find a multifunction sports steering wheel, MB-Tex and Dinamica upholstery bundled with red contrast stitching, as well as alloy pedals, red seat belts, and a unique AMG instrument cluster. Performance enhancements include a speed-sensitive sports steering system, an AMG Airmatic Adaptive Sport Suspension, and an AMG Dynamic Select system with five different modes.

The E43 will arrive at US dealerships early next year but before that happens fans can order later this year the GLC43. The crossover also comes with a more dynamic styling approach with a diamond radiator grille and a chrome splitter. There are also black mirror caps, a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system, and 20-inch AMG lightweight alloy wheels with a two-tone fit. Inside the buyers will find a multifunction sports steering wheel, sports seats, and an AMG instrument cluster with a checkered flag theme. Under the metal sit the high-performance braking system, a sport-tuned steering system, and an AMG Ride Control sport suspension.

Both models are packing under the hood the same biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine which churns out 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque in the case of the GLC43 and 396 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque when selecting the E43. Both have been treated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a tail-happy AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The GLC 43 does the zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.8 seconds and the E 43 in 4.5 seconds and both have been electronically restricted at a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
