The new generation of the Seat Ibiza is just around the corner and we can now take a closer look at it thanks to the image posted above. Seat has already performed a subtle facelift for the Ibiza but that doesn’t mean that the supermini will be around for much longer. In fact, the Spanish based carmaker will be debuting a new generation of the model sometimes in 2016. The image posted above is showing us how that vehicle might be looking like and we can already notice the familiar front fascia which can be seen on a lot of new Seat cars, so don’t act too surprised if the model will end up looking extremely close to this visual interpretation. Rumor has it that the 2017 Seat Ibiza will be riding on a shortened version of the MQB modular platform, which is being used on a lot of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group. This will also serve as the basis for the next generations of the Volkswagen Polo and Audi A1 as well. The new Seat Ibiza will slightly grow in size, compared to the current model, but that doesn’t mean that it will be heavier too. In fact, the company will drop some weight from it. Expect a new interior design and new technologies as well, along with a revised engine lineup. The 2017 Seat Ibiza is believed to be offered for sale by the end of next year. Chances are we will see it in its final production form at the Paris Motor Show. Via OmniAuto
