Opel and Vauxhall have revealed the revised Zafira people carrier, which comes with updated design and other features inside and out, with the official showroom launch tipped for this fall.

The facelift brings evolutionary styling with certain elements inspired by the latest Astra compact hatch. The front end has the MPV look a tad more aggressive thanks to sporty cues such as the modified grille and the new bottom air intake. The Zafira can also be had with newly optional LED Adaptive Forward Lighting headlights. The cabin features a new three-spoke steering wheel, a reworked dashboard as well as the latest installment of the IntelliLink infotainment with a 7-inch display. The latter is a major update for the interior as using it has allowed designers to kill off a multitude of buttons, while also featuring the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration systems. The Zafira also has GM’s proprietary OnStar connectivity and since we’re talking about a people carrier we’re treated a generous cargo space which can hold up to 65.6 cubic feet (1,860 liters) of luggage.

There are numerous new or already known options, from a panoramic sunroof to a Lounge Seating system. The Zafira also features the newest and upgraded Opel Eye camera which brings a plethora of safety and assistance systems such as Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indication, and Traffic Sign Assistant. Buyers can also add Adaptive Cruise Control, a Lane Departure Warning system, and a FlexRide chassis that comes with an adaptive ride for better handling. As far as powertrains are concerned, more details will be shared closer to launch, the automaker for now claiming Zafira to be the “only vehicle in its segment with a complete propulsion offering consisting of dynamic gasoline, diesel, LPG and CNG engines.”
