Porsche will debut the next-generation Panamera on June 28 in Berlin, Germany, the automaker announced today. But before the reveal, Porsche whetted our appetites with a new teaser photo and video.

Judging from the photo, it’s clear that the Panamera’s famous backside has changed. A thin LED light strip has replaced the oval-shaped taillights on the previous model. Also, the back end appears to adopt a more traditional shape, looking much less bulbous than before.

“A success story began. And will now be continued…New standards will be set. Opposites reunited once again,” Porsche said cryptically in a press release today.

We’ve seen prototypes of the next-gen Panamera running around for a few years now. The Porsche Panamera will make use of the automaker’s new modular MSB chassis, which will be shared with the next-gen Bentley Continental and Flying Spur. The architecture should be up to 200 pounds lighter than that of the current car thanks to the use of high-strength steel, aluminum, and composite materials. Although we don’t know the engine lineup yet, we expect the Panamera to receive at least one hybrid option. We also expect to see more touch-based controls inside of the cockpit instead of buttons.

Check out the video below for another teaser of the upcoming Panamera.
