The German automaker, the largest luxury automaker in the world, is celebrating this year an important milestone – 100 years of existence. The celebrations will include four concepts from its brands.

The namesake BMW brand has already delivered the Vision Next 100 concept and in June it’s the British brands Mini and Rolls Royce turn, while BMW Motorrad will take its time and present a motorcycle prototype this fall. That timeframe is apparently also being used by the BMW brand which is reportedly going to introduce a new 7 Series Centennial Edition. This limited series will come packing a wide variety of exterior and interior design enhancements – while nothing is official the publication discusses premium leather upholstery, a wide array of accessories and numerous 100th anniversary badging.

No word on powertrain credentials has perspired just yet but the 7 Series for now can be had in two engine options in the United States. The base model is the 740i which comes around with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine pushing 320 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque, whereas the 750i has a mightier 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 pushing out 445 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. These versions will of course be joined by the flagship M760i xDrive that has been equipped with a 6.6-liter M Performance TwinPower Turbo V12 engine that delivers in excess of 600 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The limited edition might feature a production run of just 100 units and it will be found across select markets only worldwide.
