The most important mass-market brand in the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group – the global ambassador Jeep – has decided to use the SEMA event in Las Vegas to release an interesting Wrangler one-off. While the vast majority of vehicles reaching SEMA will never see the light of day via the usage of a fully fledged production line, the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept is used as a preview for the actual road-able model. The production series will be limited though to just 50 vehicles in a tie up with the iconic Easter Jeep Safari’s 50th anniversary. The concept has been catered using the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition as a base donor and serves as a tribute for the Red Rock 4-Wheelers off-road club that acts as the host of the beloved annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Exterior changes include a vented hood, rock rails and off-road bumpers that have been finished in Granite Crystal but we also noticed the body-color grille, black accents and 17-inch beadlock wheels using 35-inch BFG K02 all-terrain tires. The automaker has also fitted the concept with LED headlights, a Red Rock hood decal and front / rear tow hooks – extreme driving situations being taken care with the Warn winch, new differential covers and a reinforced swing gate with a wheel mount. Inside the cabin we find among the highlights the Amaretto Brown Katzkin leather seats complete with silver contrasting stitching and “Red Rock” embroidery. There’s also a Jeep-branded CB radio and a “Red Rock” grab handle plaque. Moab’s renowned hard terrain will not be an issue thanks to the Rock-Trac transfer case, Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials and Dana 44 solid front and rear axles, while the Wrangler has also been lifted thanks to the 2-inch kit.
