Subaru just announced that its Levorg wagon will finally get special treatment from its Subaru Tecnica International performance division. Set to debut this summer is the Subaru Levorg STI wagon, which the automaker has teased via a video (you’ll need to brush up on your Japanese).

Subaru hinted this variant was coming. At last year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, the automaker showed off the Levorg S Concept shortly after launching the Japanese domestic market 2015 Subaru Levorg (essentially a WRX wagon). The Levorg S Concept sported a long list of STI goodies including upgraded suspensions bits, brakes, wheels, and a body kit. More importantly, it was packing a six-speed manual and a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four making over 300 hp. For comparison, the normal Levorg is also offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer tuned to 296 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, but is only sold with a CVT.

Subaru hasn’t unveiled details regarding the production version, but the Levorg STI will likely stick with the 2.0-liter mill. The 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer-four powering the U.S.-spec WRX STI sedan is a relatively peppy engine, but it doesn’t make much more power than the standard Levorg.

That said, STI fans around the world have been waiting almost two years for the wagon to arrive, but it appears this version is only slated for Japan for now.
