The official and final Bloodhound SSC has made its debut ahead of its attempt set for 2017. It will be seen in action for the first time next Easter in Newquay, UK where it will embark on a 200 mph (322 km/h) initial test which will be followed in August by a second, more important run at the South African desert (Hakskeen Pan) where it will attempt to take down the current 763 mph (1,228 km/h) land speed record. The vehicle is 13.5 meters long and is powered by a Rolls-Royce jet engine taken from the Eurofighter Typhoon. This engine works in conjunction with a  550 hp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 from Jaguar which is responsible for feeding the propellant for the hybrid rocket. All three of these power sources give it a combined output of 133,151 hp which should be good enough to hit 1000 mph in just 55 seconds.[video3]
