This year marks 40 years of art cars at Le Mans, and we have one man to thank: Hervé Poulain. Race car liveries went through three major transformations, evolving initially from largely solid national racing colors to sponsor-filled bodywork after Lotus featured cigarette sponsorship to its 1968 Formula 1 car.
