We’re pretty much used to Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May live out the best life of a car aficionado – and what they drove this past weekend for a segment of their new Amazon show The Grand Tour attests to that.

The trio over the weekend went to Italy to play around in the Aston Martin DB11, Rolls-Royce Dawn, and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. This is just a few weeks before the trio sets for Johannesburg for their first live studio of the Grand Tour. They drove up and down Tuscany, which includes Siena – one of the best places on the planet to be touring. Clarkson went for the DB 11, May chose the Dawn and the secret American blood in Hammond went for the Hellcat. And yes, they totaled about 1,870 horsepower (1,895 PS) and 1,741 lb-ft (2,361 Nm) of torque.

As Clarkson put it in his Facebook post: “Let the weirdest comparison test of them all begin.” While the Aston Martin DB11 has been chosen most likely because of British pride, we do understand the other two choices – the Dawn is the most opulent four-seater convertible and the Hellcat the most powerful muscle car in the world. Well, we’re pretty sure they’ll embark on even more preposterous adventures before the show starts airing, in May’s word circa “Octoberish,” which is still a long way from now.
