The main reason for not hearing anything about the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge recently is that this has been apparently dropped. The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge had a pretty good chance of becoming a best-seller but it seems that Nissan brand has failed in this chapter and this meant only one thing – the discontinuing of the model. The announcement hasn’t been made official at this point but according to CarMagazine, the vehicle in question has been shelved. Our source has been quoting Francois Goupil de Bouille, the Infiniti Europe vice president. “It was just too costly. That was it. It is always a matter of balance of cost versus benefit, and we decided to reign in our costs”, said the Infiniti official to the source mentioned above. Infiniti has introduced the Q50 Eau Rouge as a concept car more than a year ago, during the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit. The model has made its dynamic debut, a few months later, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it ran on the famous Hill Climb. The model in question was making use of a Nissan GT-R engine, which was capable of putting down a total of 542 HP (404 kW) and 628 Nm (463 lb-ft) of torque. The unit was connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission which allowed it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph).
