UK test drive ends with flipped Audi R8 V10 plus

It appears up there in the UK they not only drive on the wrong side of the road (though they say the same about the rest of the world) but they also believe supercars can still be driven even after the wheels have decided to face the sky. Fortunately our tale doesn’t involve any actual physical injury – Audi did a great job developing the supercar – though the second generation Audi R8 V10 Plus did come up severely damaged following a test drive accident that occurred recently. The Vegas Yellow unit was taken out for a quick spin (pun intended) from Watford Audi by a potential customer and it appears we’re being treated here to another perfect example why buyers of such models should be treated to a driving skills course before being allowed to even touch these mechanical beasts – his obvious lack of skills played out against the car which could face extinction if the damage is too severe. Preliminary info puts the driver clipping a turn and flipping the car – which ended as we can see, with all four wheels pointing the wrong end. We do know the driver escaped without any serious injury, even though by the looks of it he was driving at speeds that will also get his license suspended for (we hope) a very long period. So, lesson be learned: if you want to tame a V10 5.2-liter liter churning out 610 hp you need to first hone your “cowboy” senses and don’t just rely on luck and the automaker’s quattro all wheel drive system.
