The second largest Japanese automaker, Nissan, has announced its 2016 Nissan Titan XD has started the manufacturing process within the carmaker’s factory in Canton, Mississippi. The first Titan XD to come off the assembly line was in the Platinum Reserve guise and sported a Forged Copper exterior shade, and the commissioning was done by Nissan Executive Vice President José Muñoz and Mississippi Governor Phil Bryan – both present for a special ceremony at the assembly facility. Nissan has remained coy on pricing details for the all new pickup truck and the model is scheduled to hit dealer lots this year packing the 5.0-liter Cummins V8 turbodiesel engine that will set it against the Ram competitor. It churns out a hefty 310 bhp (231 kW) and 555 lb-ft (751 Nm) of torque and has been mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission which can deliver the power to the rear or to all wheels. Five different trim variants will be offered and the flagship Platinum Reserve trim boasts LED headlights, a spray-in bedliner, as well as 20-inch aluminum wheels, running boards and LED bed lighting. Inside the cabin leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats can be found while customers can also brag about the eight-way power driver’s seat, chrome door handles, and open-pore wood trim. We also noticed being assembled some aluminum door sill plates and the NissanConnect infotainment system with navigation and 7-inch screen will keep people entertained. The petrol-enabled Titan XD will swiftly follow sometimes during the first part of next year.
