The US automaker had a pretty dull list of novelties for European consumers this year during the 2015 IAA Frankfurt motor show with just the Edge and EcoSport crossovers, but it’s now spicing up the recipe with additional details regarding its hotly anticipated Focus RS.

The second largest US automaker back in June finally made the day for its fans and announced the approaching introduction of the Focus RS hot hatch, which for the first time will become available across the globe – including at home in America after being for the previous generations a European affair. We already knew the long-awaited Focus RS would sport under its hood the now ubiquitous 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, milked to produce 350 PS (345 bhp / 257 kW) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque, with up to 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) available for as much as 15 seconds if the overboost is engaged. Taken from the Mustang, the all-aluminum engine will be the main responsible for the fastest accelerating RS to date. Ford has finally revealed the numbers for the 0-100 km/h sprint and the hot hatch will need 4.7 seconds for that while sprinting towards its announced maximum speed of 266 km/h (165 mph).

To handle all that power Ford has opted to stray from the European hot hatch recipe that included a front wheel drive design and went for the performance oriented all-wheel drive and will even have the Focus RS fitted with a launch control system. The smart AWD system will employ two electronically-controlled clutch packs to handle the distribution of torque between front and rear. Ford is already willing to let its fans order the Focus RS with European sales starting early next year, prices in Germany start off at 39,000 EUR (43,885 USD).
