Watch Cars Get Airborne on Minnesota Highway

Over the weekend, a video of cars catching air off a large dip on a Minnesota highway started circulating around the internet. While many of the vehicles in the video took the surprise bump with ease, others slowed down to avoid any potential damage to their vehicles from the unsuspecting road buckle.

A Minnesota Department of Transportation camera captured the entire event as it occurred on Highway 36 near Edgerton Street in Little Canada. The video shows cars next to the center divider launch unsuspectingly into the air, reminding us of something you’d see at a motocross event.

According to KARE 11 in Minneapolis, Minn., the road had buckled due to the weekend’s extremely high temperatures. The road has been repaired since this video was released. Currently, the highway is undergoing construction, with the replacement of bridges in Roseville, along with reconstructed and resurfaced ramps and roads. Highway 36 near the St. Croix River Crossing is also getting repaired, with the focus going to reconstructing the roads, frontage roads, and intersections.
