Weekend deals on wheels for November 14

It’s time for the latest instalment of Deals on Wheels, which looks at four factory-backed special offers for all you weekend shoppers. This isn’t a promotional campaign, just us trying to offer you some interesting suggestions if you’re in the market for some new wheels. Nissan Micra ST Nissan is offering a 1 per cent comparison rate across most of its model range, meaning there’s a competitive deal there for most. The Micra is interesting because you can hop into a base ST for $49 a week, if you’re willing to drive a manual gearbox. That’s the price of two coffees a day across your work week. As we wrote recently in this comparison test, the Micra is an honest little battler that carries a moderate price tag — something that is largely addressed here. It has standard power windows, six airbags, cruise control, Bluetooth phone and audio, and a 9.0 metre turning circle. So, to brass tacks. The finance offer has a maximum term of 36 months. The weekly offer is based on a loan for a vehicle with a drive-away price of $15,491, financed over said 36-month term. The balloon payment is $8210.23, and the total amount payable is $15,850. It has a fantastic new 132kW engine, standard touchscreen with sat-nav, and driving comfort/dynamics that sits near the top of the class. The regular price of $24,490 before on-roads for the six-speed automatic version is sharp as it is, but at $24,990 drive-away, you’re saving a few grand again. If you’re happy with a sedan body, that is. That’s super sharp buying, and well worth a look if you were thinking Golf, Mazda 3 or Hyundai i30. More here. Audi A4 1.8 TFSI S line plus The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the class heavyweight, while the BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS have just been given big updates, and the new Jaguar XE is here to party. It all means the venerable Audi A4, which is now nearing the time of replacement, is getting long in the tooth. But that means the potential for a killer deal is there. For instance, you can get an A4 1.8 TFSI S line plus — regular RRP of $57,000 and drive-away price in the low $60Ks — for just $51,990 drive-away. You’re talking more than $10,000 cheaper than the competition in some cases. You get a 125kW/320Nm petrol engine, blind-spot warning, radar cruise, lane assist, sat-nav, a reverse-view camera, keyless entry/start, an upgraded 10-speaker and 180w sound system, LED daytime running lights and 18-inch alloys. That’s pretty sharp buying. More here. Fiat Ducato The Fiat Professional Ducato is an underrated van and, given its heavy use in the motorhome industry, relatively proven. At the moment, Fiat will sell you one in manual guise for $37,990 drive-away, or $39,990 with the auto transmission — savings of around $5000. The base Ducato has a punchy 130kW/400Nm 3.0-litre diesel engine, Bluetooth, cruise control, parking sensors and a proper bulkhead. Seriously worth a look. Key specs: Front-wheel drive. 3000mm wheelbase. 3510kg GVM. 1526kg payload. 8m3 cargo capacity. More here.
