Brabus E V12 - TV12 W210

Brabus E V12 - TV12 W210 Photo 245 The Brabus E V12 was appointed the title the "Fastest Four-Door Sedan of the World" by the editors of the Guinness Book of Records. Now there is no confusion. The E V12 was based on the popular Mercedes E-Class with a few "minor" differences, some being a V12 engine from the SL class enlarged to 7.3 litres and tuned to an output of 582 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 206 mph or 330 km/h. This kind of performance is not matched even by the likes of Lamborghini Diablo, Ferrari 550 Maranello and Dodge Viper. All this power and torque are fed through a beefed up five-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the Brabus E V12 is equipped with ASR anti-slip-regulation and the ESP driving stability system. Brabus has developed a sport chassis for the E V12 that combines sharp handling and road holding with the sort of ride comfort you would expect from a supreme trans-continental express. Last but not least, the interior appointment also fulfills all desires of the discerning customer: the price includes a complete leather appointment in BRABUS Mastik, a special leather, that is tanned without any chemicals. A fine HiFi system with CD-changer completes the high-quality equipment of this special car.To a casual observer the E V12 looks like a normal E-Class, however unless the casual observer happens to be driving a McLaren F1, this sedan won't be staying in his/her rearview mirror for long.Like its sedan brother, the E V12, with which it shares a platform, the T V12 is also a record breaker. While the E V12 has been appropriately named the fastest saloon in the world, the T V12 holds its ground as well at a top speed of 200mph/320kmph, making it the "Fastest Wagon in the World," in 1996. At a price of 457,700 DM it is also the most expensive.Available for installation in any Mercedes-Benz vehicle that comes with the 6.0-litre V12 motor, the flagship 7.3-litre "S" specification V12 engine produces a staggering 582 bhp / 428 kW at 6000 rpm, accompanied by a shattering 570 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The exact engine capacity is 7255 cc, achieved via a bespoke steel billet crankshaft and new forged pistons. The cylinder-heads are gas-flowed and matched to their manifolds and fitted with specially ground sports camshafts. The engine management system has been recalibrated to handle the demands of this vastly more powerful engine while helping to keep emissions within EC parameters. Finally, a high performance sports exhaust with free-flowing metal catalysts helps to reduce back pressure. The T TV12 uses Michelin MXX3 245/40 ZR 18 tires in the front and 285/30 ZR 18 at the rear. When you are traveling at over 300 km/h in such a heavy car, stopping can be a problem of quite considerable proportions. The Brabus uses large grooved, vented discs and four-pot race-style calipers for effective, fade-free braking. Aerodynamic stability is also an issue at the sort of speeds that the BRABUS T V12 can reach. To this end, the subtle front spoiler with additional Carbon spoiler lip provides a measure of downforce and prevents too much air going under the car. A customer can leave things at that or go for the rest of the package which includes subtle side skirts and a rear valance with a cut-out for the hallmark BRABUS twin sloping exhaust pipes. If you are looking for the ultimate blend of Ferrari-beating performance and "grocery hauling" and also have the budget to support such an awesome car, the T V12 is the automobile for you. - by Traian Popescu
