Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR FQ400 VIII Photo 379 This isn't the most powerful sedan on this site. It isn't even the most powerful Lancer Evo. It is, however, the quickest factory-built sedan ever made! Mitsubishi UK and Ralliart, along with tuning firms Rampage, Owen Developments and Flow Race Engines, went to town with the Evo FQ320's 2.0-litre turbo-four to the tune of 400hp and 355 lb-ft of torque using a bespoke Garrett GT turbo, forged pistons and con rods, new injectors, fuel pump, head gasket, exhaust manifold, sports cat and ECU. Heavy duty Alcon clutch and brake kits and a collection of minor exterior touch ups round off the package. Finally, a driver training course is included with every car. Notice that the chassis, which was balanced and forgiving and hugely grippy in the standard Evo, likewise in the more powerful FQ300 and again in the yet-more-powerful FQ330, remains unchanged for the 'ultimate-Evo' FQ400. The ride's crap, but who cares. The press release throws comparisons to the Pagani Zonda, whose driver will indeed be in for quite an embarrassing experience should he choose to race the seven-times-cheaper FQ400. Remember though that the Pagani is a hand-crafted, carbon-fibre, 210mph car and, of course, imagine arriving at a fancy hotel in an Evo MR or a Pagani Zonda: it won't be the Pagani the valets will park in a dark corner of the underground garage. So once you're back in the pits, don't gloat, but don't apologize: it's an experience no supercar driver will soon forget. The Evo FQ400 is really in a class of its own: it's meant to do one thing, and one thing only, and that's being 'king Quick. No other car does it better. You're looking for luxury? Smooth highway cruising? Making an impression on the ladies? Look elsewhere. This ride here is for those of you who bring a field gun to a knife fight, who supercharge their Hayabusas and think Jordan would be perfect, were her breasts only a little bigger. The FQ400 is the most outrageous street-legal, warranty-covered four-door ever imagined! Did I mention this thing's faster than a Zonda? - by Traian Popescu
