Subaru Impreza WRX STi 1998

The WRX STi is certainly a rocket. With 140hp/litre and a 0-100 mph time of 12.3 seconds this sedan certainly moves and comes within 1.5hp from beating the Audi RS4 in the hp/litre category. In the engine department there is a larger capacity exhaust system, a revised intake manifold and a Teflon coated turbo-charger. Forged alloy pistons, sodium filled exhaust valves, and hollow inlet valves deal with the higher revs and greater heat loads. The result is 276 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. For the Japanese spec model, 60 mph is reached in 4.6 seconds, 62 mph in 4.9. Standard features include the 16 inch gold alloy wheels, rear spoiler, leather MOMO steering wheel, AM/FM radio cassette, air conditioning, dual airbags, ABS brakes and an alarm/immobilizer system.
