I'm pretty certain I read the Cayenne would be offered (at first) with only a single engine - the 400+ bhp V8. It's not going to be shared with VW, and is Porsche's own creation. However, I could be wrong - maybe the Cayenne will have a base V8 as standard and an uprated version as optional.I think you're right in saying the heart of the 911 is the boxer engine. I suspect Porsche knows it too, and won't change the format in the future. But again, they're investing very heavily in this new V8, so who knows how things will work out? ------------------

I personally prefer "sleeper" type cars, the Z06 is a sleeper as does the 911 Turbo, non car enthuiast cant recognize a 911 Turbo out a 911 Carrera , but the problem is that the 911 Turbo still looks like a 50 k Boxter on stereoids...

Yeah, probably a V8 rear-drive sports car would be great, but please keep atleast one model with the boxer engine ... and I dont want that model to be a Boxster!Hey, I've read, in a couple of areas, about a 'Turbo' Boxster in the works ... with around 320-ish hp, or something like that! ------------------ Women are important, very important... but my Guru once told me that cherish what you will have for life... I do too, but you have it all wrong, the boxster looks a tad too much like the 911 line and the turbo in no way looks like the boxster even if it is on steroids. the only similartie is the headlights. and if your are complaining about 45k cars looking like their better equivalents, once again look at you cherished vette line.

The whold body line of the 911 cabrio looks like a boxster. Anyway at least a C5 costs only 40K, but the Z06 only costs 50K, that's only 10more thousand. Unlike the 911T costing like 50K more than the 911 C4. ------------------ A&F Auto Sales '93 Camaro Z28 A4: Custom CAI, TB Bypass FS: $8,000 IP: Logged |

To be honost i think it is senseless for porsche to put themselves in the dark like this. An suv by a sports car company could jeopardize sales of what they are in the business to make money with, SPORTS CARS. I think they're on the right track without the suv and needless to say they are making enough money to develop new supercars, leave suv's to companies who have been doing it for years. The same way those companies left rear engine cars to you!!! ------------------

Bugatti's talking SUV. So is Rolls-Royce. And almost definitely Lamborghini. And then there's Alfa Romeo ... and let's not forget Audi and Renault.------------------
