from the pics that i have seen it looks like the Ultimate Celica Concept ...in a way. http://209.132.49.149/images-large/2000_toyota_ultimate_celica-1.jpg what do you think? Yes, kind of. I think the F60 looks more passionate, where as the Celica looks a little agressive. But there may be a few similarites between the two, probably around £230,000s worth!------------------

I agree with sevaral of you that computer generated picture is not that appealing, however, we all know that the final result is always much different, and in ferrari's case, will be much better. Peformance wise, Ferrari will run the table! Can't wait till production starts!------------------

As far as current supercars go, the F60 will probably lead the way. I have read however that in benchtesting the the new engine was still around 20-30kW shy of McLaren F1 figures. And... if Koenigsegg builds the even greater version rumoured of its CC, then F60 might be blown away, literally.------------------ http://www.hsv.com.au IP: Logged |

OK. So it's official. The F40 was released in 1987, the F50: 1997, so it's reasonable to expect the F60 to arrive in 2007 - the 60th birthday of the Ferrari Marque.I feel that both the sources of images that I could find are pretty likely to be inaccurate. The F50-similar ones are COMPUTER GENERATED: and for all I can see, they aren't endorsed by Ferrari. All the are (in my opinion) is some VERY GOOD graphics artist who has taken the front end of an F50 and melded it to his own design, very well. The second source of images (the Dutch - I think - site with black images) is also a bit touch-&-go. These pics look closer to a touch-up of a 355 and a bit of Testerossa. Not really a ground breaking style either... What I'm trying to say is that Ferrari is almost definately looking to release the F60 in 2007. So that's a minimum of 6 years away, which is a *long* time, especially for the developement of a supercar, which (correct me if I'm wrong) is between 2 and 4 years. How many years before 1997 did the first *real* (accurate) spy/concept shots of the F50 start coming out? Certainly not in 1991 - we were still all going "oooohhh" and "aaaaahh" over the F40 then. Both the F40 and F50 have been radically different. Look at the stylistic changes embodied by the F40 and later the F50. What about the 360 Modena: that was also a revolution in Ferrari style (no oval grill, etc.), as well as the 550 Barchetta and even more importantly; the Pininfarina Rossa Concept. In 6 years time, the Ferrari design and style will have changed quite dramatically, and the 2 image sources I've discussed above are, in my opinion, too close to current Ferrari style. In 6 years, the F60 will most probably not look like much what we can expect now..... I can't wait . ------------------ Stephen "Abbo" Abbott IP: Logged |

I liked the F40 too... problem was, it was a very basic car: practically a road-legalised racing car... whereas the F50 was a bit more of a compromise b/w racing and road, and I think the F50 struck the perfect balance b/w the two, whereas the F40 was a bit too racing-orientated. (as always) my opinion... ------------------ Stephen "Abbo" Abbott IP: Logged |

I prefer the F40. I don't find the F50 as beautiful as the F40. It may be basic, but it is almost a true racer.IP: Logged |

Actually, this car should debut at an auto show sometime late next year - because it goes on sale in early to mid 2002.And let's bear in mind that it may not be called the F60 when it goes on sale ... its current internal company designation is "FX". Since there's almost no way Ferrari could afford to sit on this project until 2007, the "60" moniker probably won't be a reference to Ferrari's 60th anniversary. I suspect it's because the V-12 measures out at around 6.0 litres ... or perhaps it doesn't refer to anything. One other note: does anyone recall that when the F50 was introduced, Ferrari chief Luca di Montezemolo declared that it would be the company's "last supercar" because "in the future, world safety and emissions regulations will be too restrictive." Watch him say the same thing again ...

Though this is a CG, they might unviel the F60 out of order, as far as Ferarris aniversary. With Porsches Carerra GT and posibly a 980, Audi's supercar, Mercs SLR and others coming out around 2003 they might let it out 4 years early to keep up with the competition in the very highend supercar group.------------------ Porsche lover down to the golf clubs.
