Watch the car have a battery powered engine.. O would that ever suck!------------------ The proven method of making a Supra raceworthy is stripping it down and packing as many bills as you can into the cabin itself. IP: Logged |

i think this car will be ferrari's best supercar yet.. my favorite is the F40, F50 and 360 Modena as well as the old 250 GT's.. but the F60 looks promising to reclaim the crown as the fastest supercar in the world.. even though it may be shy several kW of what mclaren has, i have faith in Ferrari..------------------

I hate to screw up your thinking about the "F60" but what about Porsche 980, which has been obviously a "concept" to cover the Carrera GT. Why not think as if the "F60" is a cover up for an other car, 80% a super car. Because ot looks way to much like the F50 except the back has been drawn in more coupe no slope going down. Dont get me wrong it would be great to have F60 come out, but ... what if its a just a cover up. (but maybe for something even more amazing - like the case with the GT?)------------------ * * * PHRO2eN * * * IP: Logged |

quote: by Abbo:OK. So it's official. The F40 was released in 1987, the F50: 1997, so it's reasonable to expect the F60 to arrive in 2007 - the 60th birthday of the Ferrari Marque.
Ferrari's F60 will arrive in 2003 at least that's what the Belgian magazine "Autowereld" says quote: by Abbo: The second source of images (the Dutch - I think - site with black images) is also a bit touch-&-go. These pics look closer to a touch-up of a 355 and a bit of Testerossa. Not really a ground breaking style either...
Those pictures are real but they don't show what the car will look like, they only tested the cars chassis and engine, the top part is temporaly and is constructed with parts of an F355. The same concept car but in red is showed in "autowereld" when it's driving on the circuit of Maranello. ------------------

Are you sure it's an F355? The photos I've seen has the F60 using 348 bodywork - but on a stretched wheelbase.------------------

You're right they used only the front of an F355 and the back is from a F348.------------------

The McLaren came out in like '93 that means its 8 years old, Ferrari's 2 attemps at taking the F1 from the top spot have failed so maybe 3rd times the charm, but I think McLaren will not tolerate being ousted from the top spot and will re-vamp the F1, and by stopping production of the F1 they may be hinting at a possible come back with an even better looking, faster, and possibly less expensive supercar. Well thats my consipricy theory for the day.------------------

I stand corrected, I just looked up the F-40 and it came out in 1987, but still it was still in production when the F1 came out.------------------

Luca di Montezemolo insists that Ferrari has no interest in matching the McLaren F1 (or the Bugatti Veyron). He says the F60 will be about pure driving experience rather than top speed or raw acceleration.I do recall Gordon Murray mentioning that the F1 wouldn't be the last car from McLaren - but that was before F1 production was rudely halted. The situation's quite different now, since DaimlerChrysler controls the company. Given that McLaren will be fully occupied with the SLR for the next few years, we wouldn't see a successor to the F1 for quite some time. We can hope, though. ------------------

"FX" is what Ferrari currently calls the car inside the factory. There's been talk that they'll stick with this name when it hits the market. "F60" wouldn't make as much sense as the F40 or F50 did. Those referred to Ferrari's 40th and 50th anniversaries respectively, but the FX will arrive long before the company's 60th birthday in 2007.As far as I've read, no decision has been made yet. ------------------
