ferrari and porsche, both one of the most prestigious carmakers in the world. yet they are different cars, based on different idiologies. the porsche turbo is a luxury coupe, built to give performance along with a thoroughly relaxing drive. the ferrari however is different, it is undoubtedly the more refined car, sculptured in a beautiful shape that appeals. the ferrari is built to enthrale the driver, give the true essence of driving so that even after a long drive, you'll still want to go for another ride!howevery my feelings are the same as expressed in the magazine "Car". the turbo and ferrari are two different cars which should not be compared. ------------------

But when you see a Ferrari you like "WOW FERRARI!" but a Porsche is pretty much and everyday car, I see them all the time.------------------

this is like the comparo in MOTOR magazine between the HSV GTS and the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version VI. This was done knowing that the cars are chalk and cheese, but because they are both 4 doors. It was a low tech V8 vs a high tech turbo 4. but they did it anyway. so just let the argument flow. its ferrari vs porsche, an age old argument. i say porsche someone else says they would have the Modena. let us disagree. and let us voice that disagreement.------------------ http://www.hsv.com.au IP: Logged |

Oh no I'm not saying Porsches don't look good cuz they do, there awesome, its just that I have seen tons of Porsches all around but maybe only 2 Ferraris in my entire life so to see one its like a huge treat and its more exciting that seeing a car that is around all the time. ------------------

they're very close to each other in performance but the Porsche blows the modena away around the corners....one of the best handling cars in the world...------------------

but the Turbo S will be better in both departments, so the 360 will have an even greater challenge. And... lets not forget that Porsche will probably have a 911 GT2 out soon, rear drive and BIG power. That should give the boys down at Maranello something to think about.------------------ http://www.hsv.com.au IP: Logged |

I have to agree with what was written in 'Top gear'. The porformance on the Porsche is better than that of the Ferrari. But if I was to buy one I would buy the Ferrari, it has more passion and would be more fun, according to everyone who has drove both. But I would prefer the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish to both of these cars. Saying this though, I don't even agree the cars should be compared. It's like comparing a Lamborghini to a TVR.

Hey guys, if you are comparing the 911 turbo with the Ferrari 360 in terms of performance, I feel that's not a bad idea since they have similar statistics. However, if Porsche really produces the Turbo S, this masterpiece should have another competitor from Ferrari, the 550.IP: Logged |

Here, here gtsr. It's absolutely Apples to Oranges, or Coffee to Tea, or..., or...This is my second postat the FantasyCars forums, and (unfortunately), it's the second time that I've got a comment about the image authenticity (The other one is the Ferrari F60 topic). Here goes: As far as I can see, the image at the FantasyCars article is a *vanilla* 996 Turbo. I didn't read the whole article, so this may be intentional by the FantasyCars news team to give the reader an idea as to what the 996 Turbo S will look like... Am I alone... ------------------ Stephen "Abbo" Abbott IP: Logged |

abbo had u finished reading the story you would have noticed something rather important. it is noted that the photo IS a 996 Turbo, not a Turbo S. ------------------ http://www.hsv.com.au IP: Logged |
