So what do you think about Alfa Romeo? Read the whole story here: http://www.fantasycars.com/1/News/Alfa147/alfa147.html And then voice your opinion here. Will the new Alfa Romeo sportscars be real small Ferraris? [This message has been edited by alex (edited November 23, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Yeap! Alfa did it again. Saw the car at a motor show lately. It has beautiful rear, side and interior, however I think the front is quite ugly. ------------------ rosruc@yahoo.com IP: Logged |

Had the chance to test drive the Alfa (1.6/120Hp) last Saturday. I must say that the car does actually look better in real life than it does in magazines. The exterior design (especially the front) I think might take some time to get use to but at least it doesn't look like every other small hatch that is out on the roads. The build quality is really good not far off the Audi A3, and I reckon the interior is nicer than that of the A3 and the level of equipment is outstanding (at least in Greece, not sure if the rest of Europe is the same). Although I did not get the chance to test it on twisty roads the car handled quite well on the roads that I did test it. My only complaint is that I think that the car is a tad too heavy and you have to work the engine above 4000rpm to get it going, but then again there is always the 2.0 litre engine. Know did it deserve to win European car of the year? well I think so, probably the best Alfa to date, and I have driven nearly every Alfa that has been built. Hope I haven't bragged on too much------------------

i dont like the front end, it looks droopy. The rest of the car is pure italian style though. very nice. this is a bit of a comeback for the famous marque.------------------ http://www.hsv.com.au IP: Logged |
