I would doubt it, what with Mitsubishi's Lancer VII and the Subaru WRX STi not making it across the pond. Especially since past Skylines have not come over...quite a pity, they probably would have become cult cars over here, too.------------------

I've read that Mitsubishi IS seriously considering importing their new Evo into the U.S.As for the Skyline, there have been rumours about exports to North America for years. Nissan apparently gave it very serious thought around 1998, when they were going to bring in a few and sell them as Infinitis, but, obviously, they didn't. If Nissan hasn't done it yet, they probably won't in the future. I wish they would, though. ------------------

The Skyline is a bit more money than the WRX. The STI, and EVO VII might persuade the skyline to come though------------------ My Car Dealership: http://www.geocities.com/blackta00 '93 Camaro Z28 A4: CAI TB Bypass 1/4 mile 14.106/98.19 For sale-$8,000 '92 VW Corrado VR6: EIP Intake Manifold Neuspeed P-chip Neuspeed Intake Eibach Springs Konig Monsoons 17" Custom Exhaust Stage III Clutch For sale-$10,000 Yamaha YZF600 IP: Logged |

I've been doing some reading on the Skyline. Nissan's plan for sending it to America was apparentely killed when the car bombed in Europe. They offer it in the UK market, but sell less than 50 per year. Which probably means they lose money doing it.With numbers like that, there's no way Nissan will be brave enough to try in a bigger and more costly market like the U.S. Personally, I think North America is a different market, and that the Skyline would do okay here. I think Nissan is wrong. ------------------

Me, too - there are TONS of people in North America that would love to get there hands on the Skyline. US-based Skyline tuners could begin popping up, too, making it all the more interesting for us car enthusiasts ! I have read (and posted, in another thread) that the US will indeed be receiving the Mitsubishi Lancer OZ, or something of that sort, but no confirmations on the Evo VII.------------------

the Skyline GTR is MUCH more expensive than the Lancer Evo and Impreza STi. At the moment, with the Lancer Evo VI almost officially here, people are getting them as grey-imports. The GTR is also being grey-imported, and a fully comlpied GTR costs about double that of a complied Evo.------------------ ICQ# 111706780 IP: Logged |

I think that i would seriously consider a Lancer Evo VII over a Skyline GTR. The Lancer is much lighter, and has just a bit less torque than the GTR. And i like alot of torque combined with not alot of weight. ------------------ ICQ# 111706780 IP: Logged |

Would you still take the Evo VII if you had to choose between that and an R35 GTR?------------------

I would take either the R34 or R35, over an EVO VII.------------------ My Car Dealership: http://www.geocities.com/blackta00 '93 Camaro Z28 A4: CAI TB Bypass Exhaust Coming Soon 1/4 mile 14.106/98.19 For sale-$8,000 '92 VW Corrado VR6: EIP Intake Manifold Neuspeed P-chip Neuspeed Intake Eibach Springs Konig Monsoons 17" Custom Exhaust Stage III Clutch For sale-$10,000 Yamaha YZF600 IP: Logged |
