this will be the ultimate 911 for sure. it will be like a GT3, with 80 extra kW. What more could you ask for? Maybe this car will change the minds of all those who rate the F360 over the 911... http://www.supercars.net/SDBQ?y=2001&m=Porsche&o=911%20GT2

Rear wheel drive? It's nice but i think they could have gotten more than 60hp more out of it... I agree.. they can do better.

Of course that Porsche can make more hp out of the engine. But I think they don't do it because they have to make the car fit within a price/performance range. And if people want more power out of it. They can always get some of the pieces replaced.

I read a story on the 911 GT2, in which a Porsche engineer said something along the lines of keeping the power outputs sane. He went along to say that Porsche needs to be socially accepted, and it would be rather silly for them to go and produce a 500kW 911 for the street.

Of course they can do better but with gtsr and pooony's points it make sense that they didn't. Also, if you wanna get the more performance wait a couple years to get a Carerra GT, even though it 2X as much.

Power is not always a virtue, in particular if it comes in excess. We wouldn't want them crazee-killah Porsches slidin' 'round da hood, would we?

Reading the stats on this page; I'm puzzled. How is it that this car is lighter and has more horsepower than the current 996 Turbo, but its 0-60 time is virtually identical as is its top speed. Someone, please explain how this makes sense and why would Porsche build two identical (perfomance-wise) cars.

All that power can get in excess and make it two much or a straight line drag car. Also perfomance wise it stille is better even if the 0-60 times are almost the same everything elsoe in the car is much better.

i think this is a sweet porsche and it could be a little better but porsche could have gone out of business if it wasnt for the boxster and its low price. keep in mind they have to have cheaper porsches so that they stay alive.
