News according to Motorvision on SV:Porsche has been planning a production hard top that was designed with new features from focus group feedback. It may have AWD and a 230hp engine. yes, the new Porsche is aimed at stealing sales from the likes of the Mercedes CLK and BMW M Coupé.Sources say that the manufacturer is working on development of the model and has been conducting focus studies with coupé owners in order to deliver the ultimate driver's car. The new Porsche is expected to be powered by a 230bhp 2.7-litre engine and cost around £30,000. Four-wheel drive is also a possibility, presenting a serious threat to Audi's class-leading TT. If this car is only a two-seater it won't steal any sales from the M3 or CLK.The Audi TT, though, would fall within its sights. ------------------

I think that if it is competitively priced to the TT and the SLK and M Coupe it will probably leave the rest in the dust. Most common people looking in this segment would see the Porsche nearly the same price, ifnot hte same and would buy the name.------------------ Porsche lover down to the golf clubs. IP: Logged |

there is no such car in the suggested price range at the moment. The M Coupe is much more expensive, and the SLK is a hardtop convertible. The Boxster would be the only dedicated hardtop coupe in the pricing segment, presuming that they put it there. I myself cant see them dropping that much off the price of the convertible boxster though.------------------ www.hsv.com.au IP: Logged |

I don't think there's much of a market difference between a hardtop convertible and a dedicated coupe. The SLK is definitely fair game here, but I don't know about the M3. The M3 is too big; it's a four-seater.The Z3 and the Z3 coupe (the, uh, ugly one) are closer if we're talking about BMW. ------------------
