I love that car soooooooo much....not as much as the zonda, but kinda close... it might even tie w/ the V12 Vanquish on my favorites list! if Lotec decides to produce the Sirius, it will have more bhp than the Veyron ------------------ SupercarStats.com IP: Logged |

What? This topic again, hmm?The Rosemeyer and Veyron were indeed spawned from the same platform and drivetrain. Of course, the Rosemeyer won't be built. The Bentley Hunaudieres was the third brother of the trio. And then ... ... mind beginning to drift ... attention span shortening ... must keep occupied ... lecture 70GTO again? ... no - can't ... that'd be wrong ... but ... must do something to keep awake ... Just for posterity and a love of good grammar (and these tempests in teacups): "Thought-inhibited" is correct when hyphenated. It's called a Compound Modifier. When you use 2 words as a single adjective preceding a noun, you hyphenate. So, a thought-inhabited post. And honestly, 74GTO (heh - sorry, that's low), I still believe you WERE thinking of "inhabited", rather than "inhibited" because it doesn't make much sense otherwise. Incidentally, a kingfisher IS a bird, but the inspiration for the sobriquet is a Gerard Manley Hopkins poem in the 19th century. Brilliant, brilliant poet that Hopkins dude. And thanks for the compliments, but no more, please - they embarrass me, and besides, there are plenty of guys here who are much wiser and wittier than I. Anyway ... getting back to Bugatti, I just read that the Molsheim factory upgrading is complete, and that F. Piech has locked in mid-2003 as the target date for delivery of Veyrons. It's a good bet the test mules will be hitting the roads soon. ------------------

Ferdinand Piech sits on the Porsche board (he DID marry into the Porsche family, y'know), but it's Wendelin Wiedeking who has final call on the Carrera GT.Supposedly, Porsche makes the decision at the end of the month ... but that's not written in stone. I'm betting we'll find out in the next few weeks, either way. ------------------

thanks kinfisher, yup, i did know htat about him marrying in. I sure hope it comes up. I think it would substantially reboost their image after the hits that the Cayeene will land on them, maybe even partly from the Boxster.------------------ Porsche lover down to the golf clubs. IP: Logged |

I think that the Bugattiis a great car, butit won't be the fastest. This is becauseif one car manufacturer can make a cargoe this fast i think that the McLaren will just find a counter engine that will exceed the Bugatti and maintian its super car, fastest car status.------------------

I doubt McLaren will be quick to replace the F1; they'll let its legend status linger for a few years until it is eventually overshadowed by the Edonis or another new-age supercar.Whatever it is, whenever it is, the 'new F1' will certainly be an absolute speed demon in every way. ------------------ "The next time you meet your friendly neighborhood 911 Turbo at a stoplight, you can show him this."
