Hey, welcome... I get the impression you like Ferrari's? Right, well, i don't really have anything to add. My feelings on the Boxster, thats b-o-x-S-t-e-r, are that it's a bitty plain compared to it's competitiors. ~ó~ Watch the onslaught as the Porsche lovers come to eat my family in the night! ~ó~ Must go, am falling asleep at the keyboard. It's 11:10pm in Britain! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hmm. I wasn't aware the F60's designer was a dude named Ken Okyama. Never heard of him. I presume he works for Pininfarina. American, is he? What else has he done?------------------

Whatever the F60 is going to look at, I think it won't differ too much from the F50 (personal opinion: sad but true). I don't fancy much about F40 or 50, never has. Aerodynamics influences too much styling; long nose, big rear spoiler (altough it looks neat-for a week or two). I'm rather surprised that people here actually love F50, as it was to me nothing new after the F40 in performance. And don't get me wrong, I would take Ferrari on anything else than a Lambo (so 2nd place it is) but to me, F40 & F50 lack the beauty of, say like, Maranello or Modena. But they're great cars still. And about that 400km/h barrier, nice! And Boxter is the best looking Porsche (I'm no Porsche lover)------------------

Ken Okyama graduated from Art Center college of design as a transprotation designer. He worked for GM for while after he went to Porsche and worked on the new 911. After that he went to Pininfarina and became chief designer. He Also did the Rossa concept, the F60 and the new 456 that we have not seen yet.he is now the chair of Transportation design at Art Center. Hope that answers your question kingfisher

Thanks for the info on Mr. Okyama, Nick. He sounds like he has a fine track record. Can't wait to see the next 456 - I gather it'll be released in mid-to-late 2003. ------------------

We all have to know that ferrari cars are 100% racing road cars, nothing else. The F60 will have some technology of a current F1 car, (the new lambo doesn't even race in any major events) so this means the F60 will be technologically better than the new lambo (which means faster, efficient and trustworthy). Engines will be totally diff, and the F60 hasn't even gone to production so we will have to wait 3-4 months so we could actually say anything about the cars. ------------------

Last year I saw an interview with somebody (can't remember his name) from Lamborghini, he was also asked about Formula 1 and the benefits it brings to car development. The answer was that it was no use attending such an expensive sport while, well, it was no use! He said that the information gained from F1 isn't that much of a help, not for them (Lamborghini) or for anyone else. The input you invest in F1 isn't worth the output. And remember that Pagani did a great car, and it's it first one. ------------------

Sorry to tell you that have been misinformed, The FX project is an internal name for any new car not given access to the public, it was also the name given to a car built in the early 90's around the same time as the F50. It was just a study for exterior styling built on a 512TR chassis. They only made a few and I think the sultan of Brunie owns the majority of them.check out this link to see it(http://www.geocities.com/fgto288/fx/fx.html). As for the whole FX in the works it doesnt exist, only in the sense that every time a new car is made in modena it IS an "FX".------------------ nick the g IP: Logged |

Yes, the FX from the 512TR days was indeed commissioned by the Sultan; only one was built.FORZA magazine did a feature article on it about 2 months ago. The Sultan sold to an American dealer, and the car now resides in a museum in Southern California. ------------------
